The world's first interactive map for geolocated YouTube clips – music, moments & stories from every corner of the Earth.
ClipMap is a community-driven web application that lets anyone pin YouTube clips to a specific place on a world map. Whether it's a live street performance in Tokyo, a sunset time-lapse from the Sahara, or a folk music recording from a Carpathian village — ClipMap brings geographic context to the videos you love.
Unlike standard video platforms where content is sorted by topic, channel, or algorithm, ClipMap is sorted by location. You zoom into any city, neighbourhood, or landmark and immediately discover what people filmed there — and when. Think of it as a living, breathing atlas of human experience, one YouTube clip at a time.
ClipMap is completely free to use. You can browse thousands of clips without an account. To add your own clips, simply register — it takes less than a minute.
We believe geography makes storytelling more meaningful. When you watch a clip and know exactly where it was recorded — the street corner, the park, the concert hall — it changes how you feel about it. Local culture, travel discoveries, historical moments and everyday beauty all gain a new dimension when anchored to a real place on the globe.
Our mission is to build the most comprehensive geographic database of short video moments ever created, powered entirely by a passionate community of contributors from around the world.

ClipMap is available in Polish, English, Spanish, German, French, Japanese, and Russian.
ClipMap is used by a diverse and growing community:
ClipMap does not host any video content. All media is streamed directly from YouTube via the official YouTube Embed API. We do not store video files, and all copyright remains with the original content creators on YouTube.
Content on ClipMap is moderated by the community — users can report clips that violate our terms of service. Our team reviews flagged content and removes anything inappropriate.
ClipMap is built as a progressive web application (PWA) using React, TypeScript, and Leaflet.js for the interactive map layer. The backend is powered by Spring Boot and PostgreSQL, deployed on cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability worldwide.
The application is designed to be fast, lightweight, and accessible. It supports both light and dark themes, is fully responsive for mobile devices, and is optimised for screen readers and keyboard navigation.
