2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ClipMap you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), that you have read and understood these Terms of Service, and that you agree to be legally bound by them. If you are accessing ClipMap on behalf of an organisation, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes become effective when published on this page. 3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

You may browse ClipMap without creating an account. To add clips or vote, you must register a free account. Registration requires a valid email address and a password. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.

3.2 Account Integrity

You agree not to create accounts using false identities or to impersonate other people. You may only have one active account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans or accumulate votes artificially is prohibited. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these provisions without notice.

3.3 Account Termination

You may request account deletion at any time by contacting [email protected]. We will process your request within 7 business days. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed from our systems, though certain anonymised contribution data (e.g., aggregated vote counts) may be retained for platform integrity.

4. Content Rules – What You May Add

Users are responsible for the content they submit. By adding a clip to ClipMap, you represent that you have the right to share it and that it complies with all applicable laws and these Terms.

4.1 Permitted Content

4.2 Prohibited Content

You may not submit clips that:

5. Video Content and Copyright

ClipMap does not host, store, or re-encode video content. All videos displayed on ClipMap are embedded directly from YouTube using YouTube's official Embed API. The video files remain on YouTube's servers at all times, and all copyright in those videos remains with the original creators or rights holders.

ClipMap operates under YouTube's Terms of Service for API usage and embedding. If you believe a video embedded on ClipMap infringes your copyright, please submit a copyright complaint directly to YouTube using their standard takedown procedure. You may also notify us at [email protected] and we will remove the associated pin from our map within 48 hours of a valid notice.

6. Intellectual Property

The ClipMap platform, including its code, design, logo, interface, and original text content, is owned by ClipMap and protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of the ClipMap platform without our express written permission.

By submitting a clip or other content to ClipMap, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, index, and use that content metadata (URLs, coordinates, timestamps, titles) in connection with the operation of the ClipMap service.

7. Community Voting and Reputation

ClipMap includes a community voting system (upvotes and downvotes) and a reputation/rank system for registered users. These systems are intended to help surface high-quality, accurately placed content and reward active community members.

You agree not to manipulate the voting system through coordinated voting (vote brigading), creating multiple accounts, using automated scripts or bots, or any other artificial means. Violations may result in vote reversal, reputation penalties, or account termination.

8. Moderation and Enforcement

We reserve the right to remove any clip or content that, in our sole judgement, violates these Terms of Service, applicable law, or degrades the quality or integrity of the platform. We also reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban any user account for repeated or severe violations.

Users may report content they believe violates these terms using the 🚩 Report function in the clip sidebar. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team typically within 24–48 hours. We do not guarantee that all reported content will be reviewed within this timeframe during periods of high volume.

9. Advertisements

ClipMap is a free service funded in part by advertising. We display advertisements provided by Google AdSense and potentially other ad networks. These advertisements are clearly distinguishable from editorial content. By using ClipMap, you acknowledge that you will be exposed to advertisements as part of the service.
